Clerk of the Year 2016
Remarkable clerks, nominated by their proud councils, were recognised by Norfolk ALC at its Autumn Conference in Hunstanton last week. Norfolk ALC's Awards are sponsored by Westcotec (Traffic safety Systems).
Janet Holdom, Chair of Norfolk ALC says "We are pleased to lead the way in supporting and encouraging high standards in public service. We think it is important to celebrate and recognise the aspirations and success of clerks working within councils that have given them the opportunity to shine. It demonstrates that whether working for big or small councils, it is possible to make a real difference in the community and the winners should all be proud of their achievements."
A difficult decision for the judges but these three clerks came out on top this year:
Susan Wellerd of Stalham Town Council was announced as Norfolk ALC's Clerk of the Year Award (Overall winner and winner of the medium-size council category) and you will wish to see the later presentation to her by one of Norfolk ALC's judges and Executive member, Jo Belsten, which featured in the Eastern Daily Press:
Tracey Bayfield was awarded Norfolk ALC's Larger Council Clerk of the Year and was nominated by Blakeney Parish Council.
Kate Bennett of Nordelph Parish Council was announced as Norfolk ALC's Small Council Clerk of the Year. She is pictured being presented with her award below.
