The government has launched its Disability Action Plan, setting out 32 steps it is taking to make the UK accessible for disabled people to live, work and thrive.

NALC Responds To BBC Investigation On Abuse Towards Councillors And Staff

NALC has responded to an investigation by the BBC into abuse and intimidation of people in local government. NALC is among several local government organisations, including the Local Government Association (LGA), warning abuse from members of the public towards councillors and staff poses a threat to local democracy, calling for more to be done to stop councillors being forced to stand down and to improve civility and respect in councils.

Grants For Registered Charities

The Trust offers grants up to £5,000 for specific projects rather than general organisational costs* that improves communication skills for disadvantaged adults and supports NEET people into employment. Beneficiaries must gain at least one accredited vocational qualification during delivery.

Harleston & Waveney Valley Veterans And Serving Forces’ Breakfast Club

This initiative is to allow a place of camaraderie and friendship without the formality of a club affiliation. Swan Hotel in Harleston has been chosen for the inaugural meeting on Saturday 9th March 2024. The Owner Robin Twigge supports this initiative and believes that it is important to have such a meeting place for all Veterans and Forces personnel, living within the towns and villages of the Waveney Valley.

Royal Garden Parties 2024

Royal Garden Parties are going ahead on Wednesday, 8th May and Tuesday, 21st May.  Norfolk have been allocated two places eg a Councillor and Partner on Tuesday 21 May 2024. The theme this year is 75th Anniversary of the Commonwealth.
