Rural Household Survey Poster
The Rural Services Network in partnership with the Citizens Advice is running a Rural Cost of Living Household Survey.
HELP NEEDED IN TARGETING HARD TO REACH RESIDENTS
Ideally, they would like to target hard to reach rural residents, i.e. those without access to the internet or the capacity to engage with services online.
They are hoping you could feature the attached poster prominently in your community to help your local residents complete the survey. Places such as town and village bulletin boards, town and village halls, community shops and local food banks would be great areas to feature this poster.

Police Budget Proposals 2023-24
Norfolk's Police and Crime Commissioner, Giles Orpen-Smellie has launched his Police Budget Consultation.
Residents of Norfolk are being asked if the PCC should increase the police precept of council tax for the coming year.
Last year, the PCC toured Norfolk talking to people about policing in their communities. During the two-week consultation, Giles Orpen-Smellie will continue visiting libraries and community centres to discuss the challenges Norfolk Constabulary face in a financially challenging environment.
The consultation is a legal requirement that the PCC must carry out each year.
Having discussed funding with the Chief Constable Paul Sanford, Giles is seeking the community's support for a precept rise of 5.2%.
Based on a 5.2% increase, a Band D property would pay an extra £14.94 or 29 pence per week and a Band B property would pay £11.62 a year or 22 pence a week.
The consultation will run until 5pm, Monday 16 January.
More information and the consultation survey can be found on the website: Police budget 2023/24 consultation | Norfolk PCC (norfolk-pcc.gov.uk)
Printed copies of the survey and consultation documents are also available and can be requested by contacting the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk (OPCCN) in the following ways:
Post: OPCCN, Jubilee House, Building 7, Falconers Chase, Wymondham, NR18 0WW
Telephone: 01953 424455

Personnel Advice and Solutions Ltd - December Newsletter - Redundancy Consultation
The first three months of the year are often the time when larger Councils consider restructuring their workforce in anticipation of the new financial year. There are many reasons for this to happen between January and march, such as funding for particular posts coming to an end, the Council wanting to stop loss making activities or simply restructuring what they do.
However, if restructuring also entails making staff redundant, the process is not a risk-free option. Any Employee with two or more years continuous employment could claim Unfair Dismissal if the process is mishandled. One of the key elements of any redundancy process is meaningful consultation.

Giles Orpen-Smellie the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk has informed Norfolk ALC that he will be conducting a public consultation in the window 3-16 January 2023 about the setting of the Police Precept of Council Tax in Norfolk for Financial Year 2023-24. He will be recommending a 5.2% increase of the Precept
Council members and clerks are encouraged to take part in the consultation and encourage members of the public to take part as well.
