Submission of outstanding returns to PKF Littlejohn - the external auditors
We have today been sent details of the numbers of councils who had submitted the appropriate forms to PKF Littlejohn by 1 July. The data suggests that 97 councils in our area had not sent the Exemption Certificate or the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) to PKF Littlejohn by this date.
If your Council is one of those outstanding, then please endeavour to get the appropriate form to PKF Littlejohn now/ over this weekend. Forms can be scanned and emailed to SBA@pkf-littlejohn.com.
If you believe that you have submitted documents but have not had an acknowledgement email from PKF, please check your spam/junk email boxes before contacting PKF or resubmitting documentation.
If your Council has declared that it is EXEMPT, then only that page of the AGAR should be sent to PKF Littlejohn.
If no forms are received by them, then on 15 July a chaser email will be sent by PKF Littlejohn incurring a cost of £40 plus VAT, unless your Council has made special arrangements direct with them. There are then further trigger dates over the following weeks, incurring further charges.
On a more positive note, it is pleasing to see that 82% of Councils in Norfolk have already submitted the forms, with is approaching the highest in the list, at 85%, and much better than the lowest, at 62%!
If any member Councils have particular issues with their AGAR for 2018/2019, please do not hesitate to be in touch. An email is probably the best way of contacting me at the present time at countyofficer@norfolkalc.gov.uk
