NALC Councillor Allowances Survey

We need your input! The National Associations of Local Councils (NALC) are conducting a Councillor Allowances survey to gather further information on parish basic allowances and dependants’ carers’ allowances in local (parish and town) councils. Your participation will help the sector better understand the needs and challenges faced by local councils and work towards addressing them effectively.

NALC Publishes The Good Councillor’s Guide 2024

National ALC have published an updated edition of The Good Councillor’s guide, an essential tool for all councillors. Designed to provide practical insights into the workings of local democracy and how councillors can effectively contribute to it. It serves as a stepping stone to becoming a good councillor. Additionally, it directs readers to local county associations, which offer essential training and development opportunities.

Access The Green Book With Exclusive NALC Discount

All local councils can sign up to the LGA’s Employer Link service, which includes access to the Green Book and other employment advice and guidance. NALC has agreed with the LGA to a 15% discount on the first year.

NALC Committee Elections 2023 – Deadline For Nominations 25 October!

Just a reminder to our National Assembly members as well as clerks and councillors who would like to get involved in National ALC (NALC) governance, we launched our elections back in August and the deadline for submitting nominations is fast approaching! We are also inviting councillors and clerks who are not members of the National Assembly to get involved too!

NALC Direct Election To Larger And Smaller Councils’ Committees

Calling all Councillors and clerks who might be interested in standing for a post on either the larger councils’ committee or the smaller councils’ committees. These seats are for councillors and clerks who are not National Assembly members but who wish to participate is NALC committees.
